Public consultation for the Federal Pollinators Plan 2026 - 2028
From 30 January to 31 March 2026, the FPS Health has launched a public consultation to gather insights for the new Federal Plan for Pollinators.
Pollinators, such as bees, butterflies and hoverflies, play an essential role in nature. The pollination of crops is crucial to our food supply. Yet pollinator populations are experiencing a significant decline due to a combination of factors, including: loss of natural habitats; pesticides; diseases; invasive alien species; climate change.
The Federal Pollinator Plan 2026–2028 aims to halt this decline and restore an environment that is favourable to all pollinators. It sets out actions within federal competences for both managed honeybee colonies and wild pollinators. The plan will mobilise all available levers – scientific research, targeted projects and more – within a holistic approach.
