The Thematic Report on Forest Ecosystems in Belgium has been elaborated as a response to Decision IV/7 of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity. Its purpose is to assist the Conference of the Parties to assess the implementation of the CBD programme of work on forest biological diversity. The report reviews activities carried out in Belgium in relation to this programme.

The report has been elaborated following the guidelines provided by the Executive Secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity. It has been completed in July 2002.
