The Metaforum KU Leuven is organising a presentation of a position paper on Flanders biodiversity.

The context: Biodiversity provides humans with important ecosystem services, such as food, clean water, pollination and climate regulation. Investing in biodiversity is therefore essential for ensuring a liveable society. However, biodiversity is under severe pressure. Restoring it requires an integrated, long-term policy approach. Current policy, however, is lagging behind.

An interdisciplinary group of scientists has therefore mapped out the current state of affairs in the position paper entitled "A robust biodiversity in Flanders". The document discusses the connection between biodiversity and human health, its interaction with agriculture and climate change, and provides specific policy recommendations.
